The Explanation

This startling picture appears to show a hooded figure at Hampton Court Palace near London, England. Closer inspection reveals that the figure seems to have no legs - it is unlikely that it could have been a tour guide or someone in fancy dress.

This picture first appeared on the English News in December 2003, to much public debate. It was captured on Hampton Court's CCTV system.

There is no explanation for this picture.
